FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 1, 2004

BOSTON, MA -- The Callithumpian Consort Sonic Experiment Series, formerly the Callithumpian Consort Experimental Music Series, is proud to announce its three-concert fall season with events on the first Fridays of October, November and December at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge. The series was founded in March to present concerts that explore the crossroads between composition and improvisation in an informal atmosphere conducive to the enjoyment of both aficionados of creative music and the first-time listener. Each concert is produced by improvising multi-instrumentalist Jorrit Dijkstra, in collaboration with New England Conservatory’s Callithumpian Consort, an eclectic contemporary music ensemble led by pianist Stephen Drury, and the Massachusetts Cultural and Cambridge Arts Councils.

All concerts are scheduled for 7pm at the Zeitgeist Gallery located at 1353 Cambridge Street in Cambridge. Admission is a $10 suggested donation. More information about the venue is available at (617) 876-6060. More information about the series and the Callithumpian Consort is available at http://www.callithumpian.org.
